Measured Breaths

Mixed media, 18x24

This artwork represents the pressure I feel to do well academically and meet constant expectations. The scattered notebooks, equations, ruler, and calculator reflect the overwhelming amount of work and mental noise that often surrounds me. Everything feels urgent, layered, and unfinished, mirroring the anxiety that comes with trying to keep up and perform at a high level.

At the same time, the careful arrangement of these objects shows my willingness to find order within the chaos. Tools like the ruler, neatly written notes, and repeated patterns represent my attempt to create structure, control, and clarity when things feel heavy. For me, organizing my thoughts, whether through studying, writing, or art, is a way to calm myself and regain balance.

This piece captures the tension between pressure and peace. While the weight of expectations is always present, it also reflects my desire to slow down, breathe, and find inner steadiness.
